The Basics
These are not doctrinal, but concepts built from Military Manuals
1.0 - Unit Composition.
- At the smallest level is a Team also called a Fire Team comprised roughly three to five soldiers.
- Two to three Teams together is considered a Squad.
- Two to three Squads together is a Platoon.
- Three or more Platoon's together is a Company.
A Company usually consists of 100 and more men. We won't see 100 or more men in an operation. At a significant Joint Op, you'll see roughly 30 to 50 men, which we typically operate in different Hierarchy's (Multiple companies, Infantry, Armor etc.)
Remember that each individual adds up to support how we accomplish the mission. One person not doing what they need to do will degrade the force. So if in a Team you're not doing what you're supposed to do, you've degraded the team performance to 75%.
